Always Another Book in the TBR

Love to read, but I love to also just buy. Sometimes I think my hobby is buying more than reading.
Snowbound - Janice Kay Johnson I started this on a 1.5-hour plane trip. I figured I would enjoy it and keep reading or forget it by the time the plane deboarded and go on with my life. I am not a huge fan of the Harlequin categories generally, but every now and then I hit a good one. And this one is making me want to do a major glom of this author's work.

I kept reading. I so enjoyed it.
The writing was wonderfully evocative of feelings. You could feel the physical and mental pain of the protags, the machinations they went through to get where they ended up. There was not "insta-love cures all" ending. They each had to work through issues to get to the end.

The plot devices were just that, plot devices; but they were well thought out and effectively used.

The editing was nice and tight. And oh, not a misspelling in sight. I know this was not a self-pub, but gee, so nice not to see a misspelling on every page.

The kids were not moppets, but they were effectively used. I think she might have had a few too many, but it is all good. I actually have a child that competes in these academic/quiz bowl-type events so I know a lot of kids are needed so that was authentic at least, if a bit unwieldy in the story itself.
